The REEF database has been developed by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority in association with CSIRO. It is intended to include references to all published and available unpublished material about the Great Barrier Reef. Many of these records are of historical importance, dating back to the 19th century. REEF indexes a range of books, maps, articles and audio-visual materials for both the popular and scholarly audience.
